Who should attend an ELITE Scoring-Game Camp?

The ELITE Scoring-Game Golf Camp is designed for the competitive male and female junior golfer.
The camp does not focus on swing mechanics. You have a good swing. Now we are going to teach you how to score.

The focus of this camp is three-fold.
1) Short Game and Trouble Shots
2) Mental Preparation
3) Tournament Preparation

1) Short Game-
The Scoring Game Camp applies a scientific, yet practical approach to the short game.  It has been developed through years of research and individual coaching by many of golf’s top professionals.  We believe highly in the Dave Pelz teaching methods and that is the fundamental approach we take. It works for Phil Mickelson! Research has shown that golfers lose almost 75% of their shots to par inside of 100 yards from the hole.

With this sobering information, our Scoring Game Camp curriculum focuses strictly on what Dave defines as “The Scoring Game,” a combination of the short game (distance wedges, pitching, chipping, sand play) and putting, which comprise 60 to 65 percent of the total number of shots played per round. From three-foot putts to full wedge and long bunker shots, you’ll learn to properly execute shots from any scoring position.

Dave’s philosophy is that golfers should know:

What they need to learn to improve.

How to learn it.

How to internalize and use what they've learned.

2) Mental Preparation- We are committed to accomplishing a single goal: to prepare junior golfers for success in tournament golf, collegiate golf and life. Our focus is on building champions for life. Our goal is for you to leave this camp with the knowledge of how to lower your tournament scores. We will show you how to put yourself in a position to win your golf competition and then close it out.  You will leave the camp equipped with a year-round mental training regimen.

3) Tournament Preparation- Items covered in this area are Pre-shot Routines, Course Management, Competitive Focus and Day-of-Play Preparation.

All three of these areas will be intertwined to teach you how to become an excellent golfer.

What is one shot worth? In PGA tournaments in 2006 won by one shot over the second place finishers it was worth an average of $500,000. Greg Norman has lost all four of the Majors in a playoff. If he saves one shot in each event (4 shots over 16 rounds or 4 shots out of 1,123 shots) he wins four more Majors.

Winning in golf is the same as winning in life. It is not easy, but it is possible.  We have found that you must put the same amount of effort in everything you do. Your mind is not capable of being turned on and off. We teach you how to control your mind instead of it controlling you.

Remember, someone is going to win. Will it be you?

ELITE JUNIOR GOLF CAMP
IS NCAA COMPLIANT

This camp will focus primarily on scoring. You have a good swing and now you want to know how to shoot lower scores. The junior golfers will spend half their instruction time on the range focusing on short game, trouble shots and ball flight manipulation. The other half of their instruction time will cover the mental side of the game with a focus on course management and tournament preparation.

The ELITE junior golfers will play 18 holes of competitive golf each afternoon. The junior golfers will walk the golf course and a staff person , with a golf car, will be assigned to each group.

The campers will stay in cottages bordering the golf course. Campers will stay six to eight campers in a cottage with a staff person. Each cottage has a large kitchen.
